The training is intended for our J5/J8 Part A/B providers billing on a UB-04/CMS-1500 or electronic equivalent.

As you begin your Medicare journey, there are many questions that need to be answered. This event will focus on providing basic information needed before you file a claim to Medicare. We cover three main items to look when seeing Medicare patients:
• What is a Medicare covered service? Defines what Medicare can cover and cannot cover under the law.
• When and who can enroll in Medicare? Provides a high level overview of the enrollment process. This includes who Medicare considers a provider.
• What is Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP)? Explores when another insurance has to pay primary to Medicare.

The topics will be an overview and not a detailed discussion. This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of each topic.

This is the third in our New to Medicare series for 2020. The series design is for people (providers and representatives) with under 1 year of Medicare experience or those seeking to review Medicare basics. You are welcome to take any one portion of the series or attend all of the events.
